Klover is proud to be part of this two-story, 21,900 square foot new construction college sports facility project with Whiting Turner. This facility, part of Lafayette College’s Metzgar Fields Athletic Campus, will house the Men’s and Women’s lacrosse programs. It includes locker rooms, strength and performance development spaces, a cutting-edge film room, nutrition fueling station, lounge areas and office space for the coaching staff. The facility sits directly on the sidelines of the lacrosse field. This project supports the college’s “Creating A Championship Culture” initiative which is a strategic five-year plan to recruit and retain the very best student-athletes, coaches and staff and be leaders in the Patriot League

Klover worked with North Star Construction Management and the architect Alliance Architecture, to complete this state-of-the art sports facility. Klover was responsible for the complete carpentry and fit-out package. Our scope included 16,000 square feet of exterior framing and sheathing to support the exterior metal panel rainscreen system, punched windows, curtainwall, soffit, and roofing finishes. Over 2,000 linear feet of interior partition framing, 50 doors frames and hardware, and 75,000 square feet of drywall and insulation were used to construct over 60 separate rooms throughout this state-of-the-art facility. Klover installed 20,000 square feet of acoustical and specialty ceilings including the Lyra wood look ceiling system. This system is a US manufactured plant-based tile that brought a unique look to the lobby areas while keeping sustainability in mind.

This was in addition to installing 1,200 linear feet of wall blocking that supported the wall mounted items and roof attachments and 4,000 square feet of wall protection in common areas to guard against the traffic you might expect from a Division I Lacrosse program. To complete the look and functionality of the spaces, Klover installed all specialties including column covers, toilet partitions, shower screens, fire extinguishers and ADA required items.

This project was also completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
