Avon Grove Charter School

West Grove, PA

Building Better Environments for Learning

Avon Grove Charter School’s new Upper School represents a major investment in the future of its students and community. The approximately 83,000-square-foot, two-story facility replaced years of temporary modular classrooms with a permanent educational environment featuring modern classrooms, collaborative learning areas, a full-size gymnasium, and expanded learning spaces.

Klover partnered with the project team to deliver a comprehensive scope spanning prefabrication, exterior enclosure, architectural finishes, and interior construction. By connecting BIM coordination, off-site manufacturing, and field execution, Klover helped move the project efficiently from exterior framing through interior completion.

The Challenge

Avon Grove combined a complex, multi-material exterior with an extensive interior construction package. Dri-Design metal panels, Steni stone panels, phenolic wood panels, and ACM systems each introduced different substrates, attachment requirements, transitions, and tolerances.

At the same time, the project needed to progress efficiently from exterior enclosure into classrooms, corridors, collaborative spaces, the gymnasium, and other interior environments. Coordinating these interconnected systems required careful planning across BIM, prefabrication, logistics, project management, and field operations.

The Solution

Klover prefabricated 116 light-gauge steel exterior wall panels totaling approximately 26,000 square feet in its controlled manufacturing facility. BIM coordination was used to resolve panel geometry, dimensions, connections, interfaces, and architectural requirements before fabrication began.

The panels were manufactured and delivered according to the building’s erection sequence, allowing exterior assemblies to be constructed off-site while other activities continued in the field. Once delivered, coordinated wall panels could be erected as complete assemblies rather than framed piece by piece, reducing onsite framing and helping advance building enclosure.

Klover also introduced an important improvement to the prefabrication process by installing the ACM support track directly onto the wall panels in the shop. Traditionally completed in the field after erection, integrating the track during manufacturing improved layout control, eliminated an additional field operation, and provided a ready-to-receive substrate for the ACM cladding.

Klover’s work continued inside the building with framing, drywall, acoustical and suspended-grid drywall ceilings, shaftwall assemblies, blocking, phenolic wood ceilings, and acoustical wall panels.

Project Impact

  • 116 prefabricated exterior wall panels
  • Approximately 26,000 SF of prefabricated wall systems
  • Approximately 83,000 SF educational facility
  • Shop-installed ACM support track integrated into the prefabrication process
  • Multiple exterior finish systems coordinated across a complex building envelope
  • Extensive interior framing, drywall, ceiling, blocking, and architectural finish scope
  • BIM coordination connecting design, fabrication, logistics, and installation
  • All Klover work completed without a single OSHA Recordable incident

Why This Project Matters

Educational construction is ultimately about creating environments where students and communities can grow. Avon Grove Charter School transformed a campus that had relied on temporary modular classrooms into a permanent, modern Upper School designed to support learning for years to come.

For Klover, the project demonstrates the value of connecting prefabrication with field execution. From digitally coordinating and manufacturing the exterior wall panels to completing architectural cladding and interior construction, Klover helped carry the project from enclosure through finished educational spaces with a coordinated approach focused on safety, quality, schedule, and certainty.
